Background

(November 24, 2025, updated January 15, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone, though known locally for some time previously, was first brought to scientific notice in 1929 by Mr. C. Daish of Southampton. It is now built into the outside face of an outhouse on the farm of Lancarffe, about 2 miles north of Bodmin.

It is made of granite having an exposed surface dimension of 6′ 2″ × 0′ 9″
